In 1978 I began my career of selling automobiles at the largest Chevrolet dealer in the Midwest. After a short period of time, I became the top salesperson in the dealership, selling a record 56 retail units in one month! I knew this was what I wanted to do for a long lasting career and became a "student of the business." I committed myself to learning everything I could in the retail automobile industry and became the New Car Manager in 18 months.
In 1981, Peer Group, a large national consulting company, recruited me as a management consultant. I was responsible for turning dealerships into profitable businesses.
Over a 25 year period I held the positions of New & Used Car Manager, GSM and GM in a wide variety of operations.
In 1997, NCM recruited me as an In-House Moderator for Dealer 20 Group Meetings. Meetings were held in the dealerships for all departmental managers with the objective of obtaining a 30% net to gross profit ratio. My client list included nine dealers in Florida and Virginia.
My success in management and training led me to join AutoMax as an affiliate in June, 2001. I have trained over a thousand salespeople personally and many of my students have become the top salespeople in their dealerships within their first few months of selling.
